Exploring Moisturizers: My Experience

In skincare, skipping a moisturizer isn't really an option, is it? Today, I want to share the moisturizers I'm currently using, along with a brief review of my experiences with each. Some days at home, I skip moisturizer and choose alternative ways to hydrate my skin, which I’ll explain in more detail later. Welcome to my blog!

The first one is Pilgrim Squalane Glow moisturizer with niacinamide and vitamin C.

The key ingredients they are highlighting are squalane, niacinamide, and vitamin C. For those who don't know about squalane, it is a powerful hydrator that mimics your skin’s natural oils. Here they are using a lightweight and non-comedogenic oil derived naturally from olives.

Their claims:

Brightens Skin

Hydrates & Smooths

Youthful Glow

MY NOTE FOR YOU:

The fragrance is very mild, so it's unlikely to irritate your skin. However, this cream leaves my skin looking quite oily and greasy. While the texture is lightweight and blends well, I don't like the sticky feeling it leaves behind. If you're considering trying it, I recommend starting with a sample, as I did. Also, avoid using it for the first time before a big event.

Next is the Dot and Key 72-Hour Hydrating Gel Moisturizer.

This oil-free formula features a light, watery texture with a gel consistency. It delivers a refreshing cooling effect upon application, providing deep hydration without any greasy or oily feel. The moisturizer absorbs swiftly into the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and revitalized.

MY NOTE FOR YOU:

Although it's supposed to contain probiotics, the single pack I ordered through an app doesn't mention them anywhere. I'm not sure if the version with probiotics is a recent release. Regardless, I'm happy with how it performs. While I’m not a fan of some other products from Dot and Key, like their serums, I would definitely recommend this gel moisturizer to anyone. The packaging is adorable and visually appealing, but I find it a bit tricky to use. The inner lid tends to slip from my hands, requiring me to clean it before each use. This is just my experience, though—others might find it easier to handle.

Next, we'll dive into a discussion about Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a lightweight, daily moisturizer designed to strengthen your skin’s protective barrier. It locks in moisture, keeping your skin hydrated and nourished all day long. This dermatologist-recommended lotion is perfect for sensitive skin, as it is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic.

Formulated with Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, and pro-vitamin B5, it offers deep hydration while replenishing your skin’s natural moisture levels. Instantly soothing dryness, it helps maintain your skin's moisture barrier, leaving it soft, smooth, and visibly healthier. Add Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion to your skincare routine for lasting hydration.

MY NOTE FOR YOU:

This lotion provides excellent hydration for my skin, but I primarily use it for my body rather than my face. It absorbs quickly and feels lightweight, so it might become your go-to moisturizer if you decide to give it a try. However, what concerns me is the cost of this product; I find it a bit pricey for my budget.

I didn’t specify the prices because they vary across different online retailers, and I think they tend to be lower than the actual MRP.
